Distin\u00e7\u00e3o foi hoje conhecida na Assembleia Geral da Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial do Turismo, no Usbequist\u00e3o.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Turismo Centro de Portugal<\/strong> recebeu hoje com grande satisfa\u00e7\u00e3o o an\u00fancio de que dois destinos da regi\u00e3o foram distinguidos ao mais alto n\u00edvel pela Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial do Turismo (OMT), com o pr\u00e9mio de \u201cMelhor Aldeia Tur\u00edstica 2023\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manteigas <\/strong>e a Aldeia Hist\u00f3rica de Sortelha<\/strong>, no Sabugal, foram os locais distinguidos na edi\u00e7\u00e3o deste ano da iniciativa, depois de o mesmo galard\u00e3o ter sido atribu\u00eddo \u00e0s Aldeias Hist\u00f3ricas de Castelo Rodrigo, em 2021, e de Castelo Novo, em 2022. O an\u00fancio foi feito hoje, no decorrer da Assembleia Geral da OMT, em Samarcanda, Usbequist\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Com esta distin\u00e7\u00e3o, Manteigas e Sortelha juntam-se \u00e0 Rede Global de Melhores Aldeias Tur\u00edsticas da OMT, criada em 2021 e que re\u00fane 190 aldeias dos cinco continentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De acordo com a OMT, \u201co galard\u00e3o de \u2018Melhor Aldeia Tur\u00edstica\u2019 reconhece as aldeias que constituem um exemplo not\u00e1vel de um destino tur\u00edstico com ativos culturais e naturais acreditados, que preservam e promovem valores, produtos e estilos de vida rurais e comunit\u00e1rios e que t\u00eam um compromisso claro com a inova\u00e7\u00e3o e sustentabilidade em todas as suas vertentes \u2013 econ\u00f3mica, social e ambiental\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nesta terceira edi\u00e7\u00e3o da iniciativa, foram eleitos 54 destinos de todo o mundo. De notar que, em Portugal, tamb\u00e9m a Ericeira, em Mafra, e Madalena, no Pico, foram contempladas. A aldeia de Vila de Frades, na Vidigueira, foi selecionada para o Programa de Desenvolvimento, que se destina a aldeias que ainda n\u00e3o cumprem totalmente os crit\u00e9rios para serem Melhor Aldeia Tur\u00edstica mas que justificam o apoio da OMT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAplaudimos a distin\u00e7\u00e3o internacional de que foram hoje alvo Manteigas e a Aldeia Hist\u00f3rica de Sortelha. A Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial do Turismo premiou dois destinos diversificados do Centro de Portugal, que t\u00eam em comum estarem implantados no territ\u00f3rio das Beiras e Serra da Estrela e serem escolhas preferenciais dos visitantes\u201d<\/em>, salienta Raul Almeida, presidente da Turismo Centro de Portugal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVisitar Manteigas \u00e9 conhecer o cora\u00e7\u00e3o da Serra da Estrela, onde as paisagens envolventes s\u00e3o magn\u00edficas, a gastronomia \u00e9 distintiva e o modo de vida da popula\u00e7\u00e3o mant\u00e9m ainda um car\u00e1cter comunit\u00e1rio. Percorrer Sortelha \u00e9 voltar atr\u00e1s no tempo, at\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9poca medieval, numa paisagem rochosa que n\u00e3o deixa ningu\u00e9m indiferente. S\u00e3o dois exemplos paradigm\u00e1ticos do impacto positivo que a atividade tur\u00edstica deixa nos territ\u00f3rios de baixa densidade, o que foi agora justamente reconhecido pelas Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas. Est\u00e3o de parab\u00e9ns o Munic\u00edpio de Manteigas e a Aldeias Hist\u00f3ricas de Portugal \u2013 Associa\u00e7\u00e3o de Desenvolvimento Tur\u00edstico, pelas candidaturas apresentadas\u201d<\/em>, acrescenta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
